We often use PURGE and AUDIT commands to reduce Autocad file size. But sometimes these commands do not help. Before discus solutions we go through some reasons may lead to Autocad large file size:
+ Unused styles, blocks, layers, shapes, corruptions ... These can be solved by PURGE, AUDIT command.
+ many viewports, layout sheet,...
Please backup your files before apply any bellow solutions.
Solutions:
+ Use command: PURGE - thaw/turn on, unlock all layer. AUDIT - with "y" to fixed all corruptions. -PURGE - to delete ReggApp. OVERKILL - Removes duplicate or overlapping lines, arcs, and polylines. Be careful with this command. WBLOCK - this command saves selected objects or converts a block to a specified drawing file. Help to remove hidden object.
+ delete unused layout sheet, delete not unnecessary viewports.
+ save into "dxf", PURGE ALL, save it as DWG again may help in some case.
